The British visa guide to studying English!
United Kingdom -
Britain is the ideal place to study English, offering three different visas to study and acquire language skills with maximum efficiency. The type of visa varies based on the learners' personal study goals, and each visa has its own specific conditions and requirements according to your study goals.
1. Standard visitor visa:
Residence is allowed for a period not exceeding six months for study purposes.
An easy online application, preferably three months before your travel date.
Separate requests are possible for family members to accompany you and stay with you in the UK during the period of your studies.
These visas come with their own financial costs.
It is necessary to prove your intention to leave the UK immediately after the visa expires, as it is non-renewable. If you want to extend your study period, the solution is to leave the UK permanently and reapply for a new visa, following the same steps.
Note: If you have European citizenship, you do not need to apply for a visitor visa to study English in Britain. Residents of the Arab Gulf countries can apply for an electronic visa waiver.
2. Short-term study visa:
To study English for a period of 6 to 11 months.
The application can be submitted online, providing all the required data and documents.
It bears a separate cost, excluding health insurance expenses.
This visa is designed for students under the age of 16.
Holders of this visa are not allowed to study at any British government school.
No work is allowed, both paid and unpaid, including the acquisition of work experience.
This visa is not renewable.
3. Student visa:
It is intended for studying English in Britain for at least 11 months.
Not suitable for all categories of international students.
It is usually awarded to students studying the preparatory year of English Language Studies in Britain.
Applicants must have at least an average level of English proficiency.
